[Dharan Tourism] The Best Tourist Destination In Eastern Nepal || Dharan

Dharan is a Sub-Metropolitian city in Sunsari district, Provience 1,eastern Nepal situated at the foothill of mahabharat range and its lower part is connected with Tarai. It is the gateway for Dhankuta, Mount Everest, Basantapur (largest flower garden). Koshi highway runs through the heart or Dharan connected with Jogmani (nepal india border), Biratnagar, Itahari (Junction with mahendra highway), Bhedetar, Dhankuta, Kimathanka (Nepal china border).

People of Dharan are served by daily newspaper  (local and national), radio and television.


There are 11 local newspaper, Radio Nepal broadcast  on medium wave of 648 khz and Nepal Television's relay station near it's border.

Geography

Dharan is situated at the base of hill and corner part of tarai at the altitude of 349 m (1148 ft.).

Lowest elevation (tarahara) is 119 m and highest elevation (Bhedetar) is 1778 m (5833 ft.). It's  total area is 192.32 square kilometer among which 4.4 square kilometer is water.

Population

The total population of Dharan city is 141432 and population density is 734.33 person per square kilometer. The people of Dharan follow different religions and prey their god on their own way. Most of the people belongs to business family and others are Doctor, Engineer, Teacher Driver and some of them are farmers.Pork is much more in Dharan.

Tourist Destinations

Paragliding, mountain biking, adventure cycling, canyoning.
The cable car ride from Dharan to Barahachhetra is also very popular among visitors.
The Vijayapur Hill provides an amazing view of Dharan, while the Raja Rani Lake, Yalambe Park and Saptarangi Park (Park of Seven Colors) are other popular landmarks of the city attracting a large number of tourists.
Hindu devotees from many parts of India and Nepal visit the Panchmukhi Balaji Dharan Dham dedicated to Lord Hanuman regularly.


The Singshore Bridge, Ghum Monastery and, Senchal Lake and Wildlife Sanctuary are other attractions in the vicinity of Dharan, while the rejuvenating hill stations of Bhedetar and Namche with the best view-points in the entire Terai region are located at a short driving distance from Dharan.
